At Seven Hills, we encourage our regular attenders to get involved in one or two ministries that serve our church and our community in truly valuable ways. From simple behind-the-scenes tasks to keep Sunday worship running smoothly, providing an occasional meal for someone, prayerfully considering the pursuit of racial justice in our church and city, to up-front tasks like organizing community outreach events, playing guitar or reading scripture during worship on Sundays, Seven Hills has a wide variety of service needs that all rely on volunteers of all walks, personalities, interests and individual gifts, and scheduling availability. Below are some of our active and valued ministries welcome to any and all, regardless of experience or time commitment. MUSIC & AV TEAM

The Music & AV Team is comprised of volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, and audio-visual assistants responsible for worship songs, sound tech and livestreaming during our weekly worship services. Our team includes both amateur or beginner and professional musicians.
The Music & AV Team is currently looking especially for vocalists, instrumentalists and AV support. Whatever your experience or level, we would love the chance to tell you more about this fun group.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM
Children are a vital part of God’s kingdom! The Children's Ministry Team is responsible for organizing children’s worship, nursery childcare, and providing a safe and welcoming environment for our children to learn about Jesus and build relationships (with peers AND adults within the church!) during weekly services.
The Children’s Ministry Team is currently looking to train more PreK & Elementary teachers class assistants, and nursery helpers!
Teachers are assigned in advance a particular Bible story to cover in class on their scheduled week, using provided “Gospel Story for Kids” curriculum materials, as well as their individual interests & creativity, to help tailor and guide their lesson plan. Our church currently has a Preschool class for ages 3-5, a Lower Elementary class for grades K-2, an Upper Elementary class for grades 3-5, and a bi-monthly Youth Group for grades 6+.
Classroom Assistants require no preparation before church, as their job is to help the lead PreK teacher to engage sometimes wiggly little ones with the lesson activities, crafts and games.
Nursery Helpers are paired with paid regular nursery staff to play with, read to, and comfort infants and toddlers ages 6 months-2 during the worship service.
No parenting, childcare or teaching experience is necessary! We welcome and train and all levels, ages and stages into this fun, life-giving and important ministry getting to know our kids and helping to plant seeds of faith in young hearts.
Note: We are still growing our Youth program (grades 6+)! Let us know if you are interested to hang out with our biggest kids, meeting for lunch every 1st & 3rd Sunday right after church!

SUNDAY SERVICE TEAM
Seven Hills relies on many people each Sunday to help our worship service to run efficiently. Sunday service volunteers cover a wide variety of simple but vital Sunday operations (such as Set Up, Clean Up, Greeters, Scripture Readers, Offering Ushers, etc) to support church staff in handling the many details of a smooth, punctual and welcoming worship service. Volunteers specify the task or tasks they are interested to help with, and are typically scheduled to help once every few weeks or so based on their personal schedule and preference. We value any amount of involvement!

COMMUNITY TEAM
The Community Team assists staff in organizing a variety of events and parties open to the church and the Somerville community during the year, such as the Fall Kick-off Picnic, the Easter Egg Hunt, and whatever other ideas this team may dream up together! (i.e. Apple-picking, Super Bowl Party, Somerville Porchfest, Camping, Baseball games, Beach Days, etc.)

PRAYER TEAM
The Prayer Team meets regularly for half an hour to pray together for our church, our community and the world, including specific needs and prayer requests of the congregation. People from all walks in their faith are welcome to join for this sweet time of fellowship as you are able. Please also reach out if you simply have a specific request you would appreciate prayer for—the Prayer Team would love to bring your concerns before God.

MEALS TEAM
As needs arise, the Meals Team provides occasional homemade, store-bought or takeout meals for anyone in the Seven Hills community who could use a little help in a time of hardship or extra burden—from welcoming a new baby, to illness/injury, financial struggle, or anything in between. If you might be interested to provide an occasional meal, or if you or someone you know would benefit from this service, please reach out.
